Illicit traffic of Cultural heritage

This research area wants to investigate the economic dimension of the phenomenon of illicit trafficking of cultural heritage. Its aim is to broaden and refine the knowledge of the nature, geographical scope and frequency of illegal activities damaging cultural heritage, starting with the analysis of the illicit traffic market and the players involved. To this extent, this theme addresses the economic perspective to quantify the monetary values involved and to better identify the market structure, in order to address policies and resources to contrast illicit trade in an efficient way.

Museums and Local Development

This area of study is concerned with analysing museums in relation to the economic, social and cultural development of the territories in which they are located. The collection of data will help to understand new trends and innovative formats on the role of art and museums in sustainable local development.
