ABOUT THE CHAIR

The UNESCO Chair in Economics of Culture and Heritage: Strategies for Protection and Development is promoted by:

The Chair focuses on research, education and dissemination in the field of the economics of cultural heritage. 

The specific objectives are related to two main interlinked purposes:

Improve knowledge and diffusion of evidence-based public policies aimed at supporting the role of cultural heritage for sustainable economic development, by investigating it mainly through impact assessments, cluster analysis and feasibility studies within World Heritage Sites.

Improve knowledge and diffusion of new integrated models and strategies for cultural heritage management and protection, with particular focus on public and private collaboration and partnership, at national and international level, and evaluation of World Heritage Sites management plans for sustainable development.
 

The Chair promotes in its academic and capacity building programmes both the research activity and the transmission of the achieved scientific results.
